Get Published LIVE is celebrating its 10th season this year. The anniversary has gotten me thinking a lot about evolution.
If you’ve been on this ride with us, you know that my annual conference that aims to connect talented entrepreneurs, content creators, models, writers, influencers and strategists with media outlets such as magazines, digital platforms, podcasts, and TV has gone through several iterations. Originally launched in 2015 as FITposium, it was focused on the fitness industry. Fitness photography was where my career personally boomed, and so it only made sense to leverage the phenomenal contacts I’d made along the way to amplify everyone’s success.
And amplify it did.
Over the years, I’ve watched thousands of attendees make their mark in their industry. I’ve seen them land massive features, literally triple their business income and grow their personal brands in ways they could have never anticipated. All because they attended this one conference that I believed in so much.
But as the years pressed on, I felt my own ambition tugging at me once again.
While my career has thrived thanks to the fitness industry, my true obsession lies in entrepreneurship itself. No matter which industry an entrepreneur is in, I connect deeply with their relentless drive to succeed, their willingness to take big risks and their creativity and bravery as they pivot their business for the better. These attributes resonated with me as I was conceptualizing a risky pivot of my own.
Last year, I rebranded and relaunched FITposium as Get Published LIVE. No longer solely focused on fitness, I wanted to grow its reach like never before, while at the same time, streamline it into an intensely intimate workshop where entrepreneurs could receive hands-on, personalized training from top experts. I wanted to celebrate modern entrepreneurship by not only facilitating connections that could skyrocket someone’s career, but also provide them with the tools they’d need to ensure continued success for decades to come.
Our first year as Get Published LIVE was a resounding success. We welcomed entrepreneurs from so many walks of life, from fashion and health, to tech and communications. And once again, I proudly watched them walk into the workshop not knowing anyone, some without enough assets to even begin a portfolio, and walk out with top-tier connections across several media outlets with a portfolio in hand–and the training to back it up. From my vantage point, we’ve equipped these ambitious future leaders with the end-to-end tools they need to reach any goal they set their minds to. We’re seeing it happen every day.
Which is why I know our 10th anniversary is going to be the best year ever.
Not only because I’ve seen a winning track record year after year, but because I’ve also humbly harnessed the power to know when it’s time to be flexible. To read the room, to give the people what they want–but to also take the time to reflect and listen to the directions in which I’m feeling called to travel.
Letting my ambition grow right alongside the remarkable entrepreneurs who join us at Get Published LIVE reminds me why I wanted to start this powerful platform in the first place. It’s about creating connections that last a lifetime, and stepping up to support fellow entrepreneurs in the best way I know how.
As we blow out the candles on Get Published LIVE’s 10th birthday, my biggest wish is to continue being an essential launchpad for so many inspiring entrepreneurs who will be leading the way for years to come. My career supports theirs, and vice versa. Entrepreneurship is not a competition, but an opportunity to succeed together. When one person wins, we all win, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to enter into this exciting year for Get Published LIVE, where we’re guaranteed to win again and again.
