Getting the media feature is not enough – in fact it is just the beginning of your work!
Landing that magazine spread, that podcast feature or that TV spot provides you a tremendous lever to pull to grow your brand visibility, credibility and business leads – but only if you pull it.
Here are 5 simple ways you can PR your PR!
1. SHOW OFF THE LOGOS AND NAMES
Make sure you are using the logos and names of the media outlets you have been featured with on your marketing materials, the home page of your website, on your Instagram bio and on any of your future pitch materials like your pitch page.
2. PROMOTE FEATURES TO OTHER MEDIA OUTLETS
Media consumes media and earning features can lead to bigger features with larger media outlets further expanding your brand visibility.
3. RUN AWARENESS ADS
You can run awareness ads on Facebook and Instagram to promote the media features you received in efforts to further your audience base.
4. PROMOTE HEAVILY DURING WINDOW
Every media feature has a shelf life. For example a magazine is on newsstands for 30 days. You want to promote heavily during that window to capitalize on the momentum but also to send lots of traffic to the media outlet. Why? Because they are watching their numbers too and if your feature does well they are going to want you back!
5. FUNNEL THE TRAFFIC
You have to intentionally funnel the traffic you get during the time the media feature is out. What specific step do you want them to take when they seek you out? Be very intentional with your CALL TO ACTIONS. At a minimum you should have an e-mail capture set up.
